Sleep, or rather lack of it!

To most new parents sleep is priceless! And to be fair, it is expected that sleep will not be something you will be getting too much of for the next little while. However when baby becomes a toddler and the months drag on with no end in sight, it is normal for parents to look for a solution.

“People who say they sleep like a baby usually don’t have one.”

There are a few physical reasons why a child’s sleep pattern can be disrupted. It is best to check that all is well physically before you embark on a sleep training journey.

Physical issues that can affect sleep include Recurrent Ear Infections and Glue Ear in Children, Congestion or Digestive issues like Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy or Infant Reflux

There is always a solution and every child will learn to sleep through the night. It may require patience, persistence and perhaps a little Cranial Osteopathy but you will get there in the end!

  2. Hi there.
My 21 month old son has suffered with silent reflux as a baby. About 10m9nths ago he came off his medication. When our son transitioned from his crib to a larger cot at 6months old he has never slept a full night or a rare occurrence if ever. He will wake crying and unsettled up to 10 times a night and we can no longer function with the lack of sleep. We have tried everything possible. Special pillow..room temperature..body temperature..light in the room..light off..pillow sprays..changing meal times before bed…baths before bed..massage oils..anything we could think ofcwe have tried and somebody suggested craniology.

Do you think Frank may be able to help with him?
Can i have some details about cost etc and when he is free?

    Kind Regards
    Jennifer

    1. Hi Jennifer. This is such a stressful issue isn’t it. Can I ask you to send Frank an email about your son, his medical history and his difficulties around sleep. Once Frank reviews the email, he will have a good idea if he may be able to help of if it’s a conditioning issue. His email is frankkelleherosteopath@gmail.com
If Frank feels he can help, we will then book an appointment. We’d be looking at the start of October but we do have a cancellation list too. Hope this helps Jennifer.

  3. My one year old has never slept a full nights sleep. I have two older children who slept like a dream from 8 weeks and 12 weeks old, so we are totally out of our comfort zone with him. How can I get him to sleep all night? Please!!!!

    1. Hi Keri. The way we look at a sleep issue is, if something physical is disturbing the sleep pattern we work on that. For example if he has upper respiratory issues, ear infections, digestive issues or if his nervous system is running a little out of sync with his breathing system. If your son if physically well, cranial osteopathy is not the solution. Hope this helps Keri. Rose.
